Generally, if the patient is suspected to have a fracture, it is necessary to carry out manual reduction, or if the fracture has no obvious displacement, it can be directly fixed with plaster. The process of plaster casting usually takes 25-30 minutes. The analysis of the process of plaster casting is as follows:
1. Measurement length: when deciding to cast plaster on patients, it is necessary to measure the range of fixed plaster before preparing plaster;
2. Preparation of gypsum: at present, there are two kinds of gypsum, which are divided into powder gypsum and resin gypsum. No matter what kind of gypsum, it needs the solidification process, which varies from 8 to 15 minutes. After measuring the length, the patient’s skin needs to be protected with cotton pad. After protection, the gypsum will be soaked in water.
3. Dressing plaster: after the plaster is soaked in water, the plaster can be spread on the patient’s forearm, rear arm or limbs, and then bandaged and shaped. Generally, the limb wrapped in plaster should be placed in the functional position, that is, in the position where the limb can perform the maximum function, and then wait for the plaster to solidify. After the plaster is solidified and shaped, make a simple bandage and put the limbs in front of the chest or high place. The whole process takes about half an hour.
